Making Chickens: Day 0

We decided to put a couple of hens on our side of the farm. Mostly to control the flys in the cow pasture. But the eggs will be a nice bonus.

Instead of stealing some hens from my parent’s side of the farm or buying chicks from a store, we decided to hatch our own chickens from eggs.

Piggie Progress

The pigs are getting big.

I measured them this morning.  Got to try out my nice new hog measuring tape. They are 195lbs according to the tape. Now we need to start thinking about getting them butchered before too much longer.
